The gunas are the 3 fundamental attributes which we find everywhere in
creation-in food, the environment, and in the company we keep. They
are kind of like the yin and yang in Taoism. These "gunas" are sattva,
rajas, and tamas. Sattva is characterized by lightness, consciousness,
pleasure and clarity. It is pure, free from disease and cannot be
disturbed in any way. Rajas represents desires, wishes, and
ambitions. Rajas brings motion and activity. Tamas is characterized by
heaviness and resistance. Delusion, laziness, apathy, and sleep are
due to it. Utilizing an understanding of these 3 gunas, ayurveda
harmonizes our relationship to the them, bringing a deep balance
balance that cultivates a physically vital and emotionally joyfully
life.
David Ray took Sri Sri Ayurveda's "technician" training program at the Art of Living retreat center outside of Montreal, Canada in 2001. Here he learned how to properly administer numerous treatments and he deepened his theoretical understanding of various ayurvedic concepts. Since then he has given these treatments at programs in New Jersey, Montreal, and California. He has also gone on to work with other ayurvedic practitioners, drawing what he believed was most useful into 3 Guna Ayurveda. In addition to these studies in ayurveda, David is a graduate of Boulder College of Massage Therapy's 1000 hour massage certification program. He has been an educator to children of all ages. And he is an avid believer in the healing power of art. David's passion, experience, and skill with ayurvedic treatments has led him to open the 3 Guna ayurveda center so that ayurvedic treatments can become more accessible to all.
Raashi has a background in graphic design and environmental studies. After working for corporations, like Siemens, and other Start Ups, she decided to do take the leap and do what she was really passionate for, Ayurveda. She finds Ayurveda the perfect line of work for her since she can make a living by facilitating health and joy in others. She finds that when a consciousness intention and touch of a therapist is accompanied by the already powerful ayurveda treatments, it can facilitate an even deeper and a more multi dimensional healing process. She has been trained and practices Sri Sri Ayurveda, which is a modality that insists on authenticity and facilitates physical, mental and spiritual healing.
Raashi also does freelance graphic design. All 3 Guna graphic work is done by her. Please email her at prnaidu@gmail.com for more information about her graphic design services. Find Out More >
